It appears that 3-#8 cable w/#10 ground is a little over 1/2" diameter so you're probably looking a 1-1/2" conduit to be able to pull two cables. It appears 8 - #8 THHN would take a 1" conduit. Maybe this is sufficient information to attract certified electricians to confirm or deny.
