If you have no instruction manual, you'll have to call the slide mfgr. for assistance or download the specific manual from their website if they have one. For example, I know my Lippert mechanism info is download-able from their website complete with adjusting instructions. It sounds as though your slide needs an adjustment, but without instructions I doubt you can successfully solve your problem.
