Question Re: Water Pump Activation

When camping without any hookups, periodically (every 10-15 minutes) the water pump goes on for about a second then stops. Everything is fine when using any of the faucets and they seem tightly closed. Has anyone experienced this? Is it possible there is a small leak that reduces the pressure which would cause the pump to activate? None Are apparent. Could air be getting the the system? What else could cause it and what might be the fix.

Thanks in advance for any input

  • Our also cycles briefly every so often. Doesnt hurt anything (less its due to leak) or your just dozing off.... We dont leave ours on. Adding an accumulator will increase times between cycles, plus have water on demand without running pump.
  • Probably a small leak somewhere. These can be a B---- to find. The first place to look is the city water inlet area to see if the check valve is leaking.
  • Most likly just leaking back thru the pump, happens a lot -- just turn off the pump switch till needing water --- will save on battery as you are not needing water 24-7. KMHO
