There are holes in the sides of the roller on the ends you need to put a cotter pin in or a nail to lock the springs in place on the roller. Then you can do it what ever way is best for you. Do NOT unbolt anything without locking those springs in place. Once that is done it is very easy. You will need to drill the rivets on one end to get the awning material off the roller tube and put new pop rivets in when done.
