Questions about repairing Carefree slide topper

The Carefree slide topper came partially unstitched and pulled out from around the poly rod on one of our bedroom slides. I put a couple of clamps on the canvas and pulled the poly rod out. Now, ...

When our side topper did the same thing as yours. I got out the big ladder and sewed it in place by hand with some extra heavy duty upholstery thread.
