While my MacBookPro does not list an IR output source, it has one that is used as an input for the Apple Remote. It will turn on, off, and switch sources of my Sony iPod dock (that has a IR remote) across the trailer. Annoying, but I haven't found a way to prevent it. When it switches the iPod deck seems to be random, although it generally is more likely to do it when I'm on line.
