Perhaps I have created some confusion by the way I’ve described my setup.
On the front, at the top of the fridge is a black control panel with, from left to,right
1. Mode knob (AC, DC, or Propane)
2. Fridge temp control.
3. White/green meter
4. Piezo push to light button
5. Another knob labeled “Temp”
Of these, the only one that can be pushed in with ANY non-destructive amount of force is number 5.
On top of the counter is a two burner stove. Each of the burners has a push and turn knob. When I push and turn one of them, I can smell propane.
I guess I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to get a butane match to light the stove and see what happens with the fridge.
