Actually, it's more like 4%:
0.54v / 13.6v = 0.0397
The voltage load curve for these wfco converters indicates max current at ~13vdc. The only way to get the min volt drop at high amp is to run 2 gauge wire (largest wire wfco will accept). I think op is on to something when looking at other things in between the battery and converter with high resistance)
