It could be just me but I’m not sure what you are referring to when you say “intake filter”. Do you mean the filter on the gas line or the air filter.

Why would there be an in line gas filter on an LP generator?
My bad, all the propane gas equipment I worked around (including generators) had filters on the fuel line to remove contaminants. I didn’t realize the low wattage generators apparently are lacking such protection.
If it’s the air cleaner causing the issue; it must be working in an unusually dirty environment or needs a better filtering system.
