The first year that the Dutch Star was offered with a fiberglass roof AND a bedroom slideout large enough to accomodate a kingsize bed was 2003. It came with a 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty. And, THAT'S when I decided to order one.
The part that they didn't explain is that the roof had a lap joint all the way around. It was screwed down with plain steel screws, and with about a 3" strip of junk self-leveling caulk that covered the joint and screwheads. It took 2-1/2 years for it to look like this:

I attempted to put in a warranty claim. Newmar rejected the claim, and advised me that this roof had not been properly maintained. So, I went about cleaning up this mess, and applying some more Dicor self-leveling caulk. And, I got the same results. And, that's when I did the research which led me to form some opinions on roof repair,.....and other things.
BTW Newmar introduced a different roof design for 2004. And, coincidentally it was a design very similar to the roof that was on my previous motorhome, a Winnebago Vectra (which roof was trouble-free).
Live and learn,.....story of my life.
