BFL13 - Points well taken. We never pull both RV's at the same time (not yet anyway). The story is I have always wanted a horse trailer with living quarters, but they really like them (high price) so I got tired of deer hunting / camping with my buddy with a tarp over my stock trailer or tent camping, etc. getting too old for the hard life. Anyway, I said I'm just going to buy a bumper pull RV to camp in. Not too long afterwards (murphy called) a good deal came up on a horse trailer with living quarters (young couple via divorce). Well, it was a little late. The bumper pull has a nice front queen bed (level floor) and a larg(er) frig, an oven... you get the drift. The horse trailer don't have the larger frig, bigger bed plus it is upstairs over the gooseneck and no oven. Now that I have them both I know from quality / durability the horse trailer will hold up to the rough tumble road life but I'm afraid the bumper pull quality of structure doesn't compare. I just need to find a horse trailer that has easier access to the bed and the other amenities to get down to one trailer. It would be difficult to give up my "toy's" hauler capability of the horse trailer. One of these days I may only be able to haul my 4-wheeler with me. On the two two vehicles, with gas / diesel prices this is not a good option for full time rv'ing.
HiTech - That is a good point about charging going down the road. I was a little concerned of the wind and the configuration would have to be good to be able to hook up to gooseneck and not damage panel but since I drive a diesel with 2 batteries I can at least recharge batteries with the alternator / batteries of the pull vehicle. Yes, I no longer have cattle but I use this bale bed for all kinds of things. Almost as handy as a front end loader on a tractor.
Almot - As long as I have my horses with me I'll never be bored. One reason I like the horse trailer. If I don't have horses I can still haul my 4-wheeler. Yes, I guess Handy Bob is a little strong but he is not trying to sell anything and I know there are some solar sales people that are only there to sell and don't have the electrical background or actual boondocking experience.
