Maybe wrong thinking but I had kinda pre-determined to go with an MPPT controller due to better effeciency in getting available energy from panel plus I had contemplated having the batteries and controller located stationary on the truck and deploying only the solar panels. With distance I thought I understood an MPPT controller may be the better choice, since I don't have either a pwm or mppt controller at this time. I would also like to have the batteries charged to 14.8 amps and held there for some time before going to float mode.
