No doubt that controller works ok. I picked up some gossip that the Outback is fairly ordinary mass market, but costly, and that a guy who worked for them got fed up and created MidNite to make "handmade" controllers which are way superior. No idea if all true or where it fits in to anything--just gossip. It came out when discussing the price of those various controllers and whether they are worth it. IE don't pay as much for an Outback as you would for a MidNite was the point being made.
