I may have missed this part, but I don't understand why the rover needs a DC wire at all. You can just run the 120v cable to the RV which has a converter.
The converter does not need any battery. There is no "loop" like in the inverter-converter situation where they are both on the same battery bank.
Where the Rv is a trailer that needs a battery for the brakes /breakaway, that battery does not need to connected to anything else while camping.
There are some power losses, but so what? Having more play where the rover can be from where the Rv is parked in the shade now that you can have a longer 120v line is what counts.
