Rear Airbags no longer made. What can I do?

I have a 1993 Newmar Kountry Star 34' class A motorhome with a tag axle on the Ford F-53 chasis. It has firestone airbags in the rear and they leak. Generally, the compressor kicks on to top them off every 5 to 10 minutes.

These bags are original!
I can't fully read the model number, but I contacted Firestone and they say they don't make them. I called a local RV repair place and they contacted Firestone, Airlift and some local suppliers and they all don't have them and say there is nothing to replace it with.

I have found a few airbags online that seem close to the same style and specs, but don't appear to be the exact same. For example, mine have studs that go through the bag and the ones online do not.

What can I do? What do you do when parts like this are no longer manufactured for your rig?

Thanks in advance.
  • Take your MH to a heavy duty truck shop. They can find a replacement.

Check with a heavy duty truck repair shop, they may have been faced with this problem before and have a work around.
  • Bags are bags, The stools differ but the bags interchange. I big truck dealership will be able to refit them for you.
  • You have a Franklin Truck parts house in your area. Take a bag off and take it to them so they can match it
  • Contact Airlift yourself. If you measure the size of you bags, they should be able to match you up with new ones.

I don't see any for my chasis on the AirLift site that are the same style. Does that matter? Mine are reverse sleeve vs the more common double convoluted.

I'll give this a shot! They aren't super close to me, but if it works, its worth it. Thanks!
