rear camera monitor

in our old 2006 sunova the monitor is still cathode ray tube (CRT)
always worked before. today after sitting for a year it showed nothing. vehicle has about 20K miles on it.
pushing on/off got some light flashing on the tube.
what does a new modern one cost? maybe it is the camera of course.
as everything is Chinese made junk is there a least bad model?

voyage observation system VOM-7SN

thanks all
  • 387.43 USD = 500.40 CAD
Plus whatever the credit card charges plus import duties plus shipping!
  • A recommendation for a camera that can withstand getting wet like one mounted in the trunk of toad? I am "blessed" with a toad that has limited rear visibility.
  • If your current camera is hard wired you can wire up the new one to the old wires. Check continuity first.
  • I didn't have one initially, but I bought a generic Chinese monitor and camera for around $60. It's been working great for 2 years now. Running the wire was the hardest part, but you should be able to use the existing wire.

I just looked on Ebay for ones that had the best reviews for what I wanted to spend, and I'm happy.
