For Terryallen...
I had to use one extension wire..I just called Hopkins and they actually sent me two extensions free...shrink tube at the joints.
I used the sticky tape that came with the mount. It hasn't fallen or even moved in almost 2 years now and the truck has been parked in some very hot weather.
I forgot what the red and black wire were for. It's been a while since I installed it. The hardest part was crawling along under our truck on my back. I wanted to run the wire along and inside the driver's side frame rail. The rest of the install was a piece of cake and a fun project.
The 7 pin that they supplied works just fine. It's heavy duty...exactly like the original from GM.
