Your converter is working making the "12v" but it might be on too high for having the other things on at the same time while it tries to charge the dubious battery.
You could take the negative (white) wire off the battery post so you have no battery connected and just run on the converter for the 12v stuff. Now the converter will be mostly idling doing small things so maybe you can run your other stuff in the receptacles without popping the breaker.
Electric heaters draw a lot of power and having both the small heater and the fireplace on at half counts as having one on at high.
