And 2oldman, you are the man!!! That was exactly the post i was looking for :). I didn't find it before getting called away from the puter, but looking at my very oldest posts was a trip down memory lane... and a reminder of how much I forget, in my old age. Hugs :). - JframpeyExplorerI got this one last fall based on comments I saw on here...

Can't find it yet. Did you post in Mex's thread? If you go searching, they're also called ammeters.
I may have! Thanks for the prompt; I will look. I think it was fall 2014... - 2oldmanExplorer IICan't find it yet. Did you post in Mex's thread? If you go searching, they're also called ammeters.
- hersheyExplorerI'd suggest the AC/DC clamp on from Sears. About $60 bucks and is all anyone would ever need for all their meter use. You can spend a lot more money and not get the DC amp reading, only AC.
- westendExplorerI have a Fluke clamp-on but for the occasional user, this Craftsman meter or this Tenma meter would be a more economical choice.
Now that I have two quarters clinking in my pocket, I might buy the Tenma for permanent use in the RV. It is actually a pretty sophisticated meter, only lacking calibration, from my Fluke. - CA_TravelerExplorer IIISears has one that is reasonably accurate and probably consistent with others in the same price range. Be sure you get one that includes the ability to measure DC amps, so AC/DC volts and amps.
While there are better and more expensive ones the $50+ ones have served me well for RV use.
