Without your saying what kind of fridge, most newer ones have a thermistor mounted on the cooling fins in the fridge compartment. It leads to terminals on the control board. If it is disconnected, removed from the fins, wires broken or terminals corroded, the control board will interpret that as needing to keep the cooling unit running. Website BryantRV has Service Manuals. Find your make/model and the manual should tell you how to test it. If testing shows thermistor bad, gOOgle "Snip the Tip" for an easy-to-install replacement.
