Dons2346: It is a self defrosting, Maytag brand. I will explore the drain line. Great thought. Hadn't crossed my mind. I think you may be onto something here.
The ice maker is separate from the bottom freezer compartment. Is there a separate "on/off" switch for the ice maker other than the rocker switch that turns off the mechanism?
