Refrigerator (New Brand)

Just received my copy of the Camping World catalog.
They have a (Americana refrigerator) seems really cheap starting at $1176.99. I for one never heard of that brand. Any one know any thing about them??

Americana is the entry level in a Dometic series. 2652 is probably the most common one sold. Also probably the one most often "on special/on sale." The "6" in "2652" means "6 cubic foot." We replaced an old Dometic with a "2852" an "8 cubic foot" fridge. Freezer portions are the same size. I go to the trouble of calling all this out because it turns out that the "6" version is a little OVER 6 cubic, while the "8" version is a little UNDER 8 cubic. So the gain is less than the full 2 cubic the model codes suggest.

So, 2X52... Entry Level. One of the most obvious things it's missing is Manual Temp Control. It can be adjusted a little by moving the Thermistor up or down on one of the Fridge compartment cooling fins. Bu there's no Knob/Dial/Switch to adjust with. A big deal for some, but we never missed it.
  • That is a DOMETIC RM2652 2-way double door 6.0 cu. ft RV Fridge (Americana Model) and it is on sale....save $100

Shop around........DM2652/RM2652.....cheaper via other internet sales

Checking their online catalog the closest I can get to "Americana" is this one

    http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/dometic-americana-rm2551-2-way-refrigerator-single-door-5-0-cu-ft-/17736

And it is a Dometic Americana Less than a kilo-buck.
  • Is Dometic owned by GE? According to all my searches, the 'Americana' fridge is a Dometic model.
