You can do a partial cleaning from the bottom with a flairly stiff wire like a metal coat hanger. There is a baffle a few inches up in the stack that makes the heat circulate in the stack. make sure you rattle the baffle!
Thanks for your response. I did tap many times on the stack to try to get any soot, etc to fall down, but that's all I've done in that regard. So I guess to get further into the stack, I will need to take it apart as much as I in the small area of the refrigerator that is accessible from the back panel.
Are you suggesting that I should try cleaning up into the stack, well beyond the small accessible area?
