refrigerator not working

Funny it is now working. I turned it on this morning and it never cooled after several hours. When I had the back cover off, I removed and replaced every plug and connector on the board. After 3 hours it is frosty cold the propane is turned off. Maybe a dirty or loose connector was causing a low voltage. The only other thing I changed is the engine battery.

Now to get the generator working. Hopefully thats just a carb rebuild.

What is refig doing (or not) to make you think it's not working on power v gas? My Dometic cools faster and better on gas but short of tech-ing the heater coil I would be hard pressed to tell if it's "working" on power unless I waited hours to see what temp was.

Bob, so I do check the voltage out of the board to the element? Or at the element? Thats easy enough.. I asssume the element is behind the cover where the gas lines are. Hard to sell without a working fridge :)

Before you pop for a new board, check to see if you have 110/115 volts at the terminals going to the heating element. If so, he element needs to be replaced.

If the gas part works then the unit is getting 12VDC.

Its a dometic and the fuses are good on the back of the unit. Seems like that card is the only think that could go bad. And the coach batteries are new. I will jave to see if the manual has the voltages. I know I touched one side of the fuse and got shocked.

might check your battery, the older frigs need 12volt even on shore power .

A couple of possibilities come to mind. Either the electric heating element is bad or the control board itself. Is it a Dometic refrigerator? If so a new Dinasaur control board runs around a hundred dollars. If you have experience with a multimeter you can troubleshoot the problem at the back of the refrigerator on the outside of you class C.
