I'm sure there's a joke in here somewhere about the chilling effect the thermistor has on you.
I googled thermistor but it's deep reading. - ktmrfsExplorer II

yes dinosaur electronics has a device you can put inline at the board and it does help. have one. i will go to the web site and find it for you. well i couldn't find it on dinosaur's site but they do carry it
THIS is what i am talking about, be sure you get it for dometic or whatever brand you have. very simple to install.
That's what I installed on our dometic as well. does a good job. - horton333ExplorerThank for the link, may be a bit more elegant than I was looking for (which is a cheap one time mod).
What I need to know is if the thermistor temperature co-efficient is positive or negative, or even better (I can be lazy, yes) which part to change on the control board to bias things colder?
I see from the repair manual the 'good' resistance is 7-10 kohms. With a wide range like that no wonder temperatures vary between units! - ADAD437Exploreryes dinosaur electronics has a device you can put inline at the board and it does help. have one. i will go to the web site and find it for you. well i couldn't find it on dinosaur's site but they do carry it

I find our new fridge is not cold enough, and given the outside temperature I doubt it was because it was working too hard or something needing major modification.

Do not let that come loose from the fin or holder. Mine did and it caused the fridge to short cycle.
Must have only fallen down into drip tray under fins.
Typically thermistor will fall down below shelving towards bottom of compartment.
When that happens fridge runs in cooling mode continuously freezing contents in food compartment. - JiminDenverExplorer IIDo not let that come loose from the fin or holder. Mine did and it caused the fridge to short cycle.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIThe 'thermistor' is the temp sensor that thermostat uses for control of cooling process (how long/short of duration to run 'heat' source...electric/propane)
The thermistor is held against the fin by the plastic clip. It senses the temp of the fin which is 10*F lower than the 'compartment temp.
Your fridge has a factory pre-set temp point for thermostat.....non-adjustable.
Moving the thermistor UP (warmer section of fin) causes thermostat to run cooling cycle longer duration in order to reach temp set point.
Moving the thermistor DOWN (cooler section of fin) causes thermostat to run cooling cycle shorter duration to reach temp set point.
Movement of thermistor only has a minor affect on overall temps by 4*F to 6*F
But when you can't adjust set point of upper panel any temp means to affect temp helps.
