Harvey, not only is it under 6 amps, but it starts out as almost 20 volts, and only has to end up as 13 or so volts. I have the Renogy 100w bendable panels and I love them, and when I set them out in the sun I run 12awg WELL over 50 feet (I won't admit how far). Key point is there is still plenty of voltage left to account for PWM losses and still provide 13+ volts of charging power from a dumb ol PWM.
Personally, I only feel stupid when I look at my FlexMax 80 MPPT sitting unused, and think of how many beers I could have bought with the money I paid for that boat anchor. PWM!!
