Renogy 100ah LifePo4 Lithium - Max Surge Current

Renogy tech support is telling me the BMS on their standard (not Smart) 100ah LifePo4 battery will shut down the battery if the current exceeds 100a, period---that it has no surge capability like the Battle Born and Lifeblue lithium batteries. The BB and LB batteries can surge up to 200a - 300a for very short periods.

Anyone using (or has used) the Renogy 100ah LifePo4 that can offer some realworld feedback on its surge capability? Thanks!

  • So get a second battery already. (or a third for that matter)

What do you have drawing all those amps?
  • I'm using 100ah 48v pack and it surges just fine. It's hard to imagine subjecting a single 12v battery to 100a draw.

It also has to be a known fact those other batteries actually *will* do that.
