Replace pull out power cord

I will post a picture of my install in about a week to show everyone my mod. I did purchase a kit, but Holiday World did not tell me that a round kit was available. Should have done this research first! I am taking two great ideas I found to correct this problem. One from this forum from Austin was to cut a square piece to cover up the round hole and mount my "square" plug onto the square piece. One idea from another web site was where to locate the square piece. Go to a sign store and let them cut the small piece of aluminium, rounding the edges. I did that today. I am getting a white piece to match the white plug. They are drilling the screw holes. I will cut the round hole for the cable and screw holes for the new plug. Should work great!

If you are considering changing into a detacheable unit. You can buy conversion kits. This one here is under $100 and I have personally installed a few of this brand.

Hi,

I simply added a standard 30 amp male plug leaving only about two feet to be pulled out. I used the remaining space to store my most commonly used dog bone adapters.

This allows me to replace the 30 amp cord at any Walmart. Good luck on that if you go with the (excellent but pricey) Marinco.

I used the same thing as RoyB suggested, got it at a local marine parts store.
When a squirrel got in mine then chewed his way out I thought it was about time to convert to something a bit more secure.

Get the Marinco Park Power kit, it mounts in the round hole. Problem solved. :)

I've done this very modification. I had the power cord wire nutted (I know not the proper naming convention) to the house wiring. The socket goes where the wire hole is where you pull the cable out. Best way to keep your connections from getting loose unless your power cord is already attached to the bus.

Its worth it.
