Replaced water pump, wont shut off now

Hello!
I replaced a 3008-403-144 with a 3008-101-e65 in a 2006 Keystone (Liteway) Outback.
The pump works and pressure is good, but it never stops running. It is like it doesn't know there is no demand. The switch on the wall gets really hot to touch. Is there a way to fix this, or should I switch back to the old model. I've heard that model is not super reliable, so I'd like to avoid that. The differences are only in max amp- Old was 5 and this one is 7.5 and pressure of 45 vs new 55.

Is there a hidden fuse that I can upgrade?

Thanks,
Patty

  • Sorry for my slow response. I had surgery and couldn't try any of the suggestions. Yes, the model numbers were fudged. I got the pump to shut off and function properly by adjusting the pressure switch. Wall switch still feels hot, but connections seem fine. I will replace to see if that solves issue.
    Thanks so much!

  • Out side shower turned off at the valves and not the shower head???
  • 1st off your model numbers are not correct.

Shurflo 3008-403-144-------that would be the Classic Model #2008 (your OEM pump) which has been discontinued for several years

Shurflo 3008-101-E65........that is the Revolution Model #4008 (replacement for the 2008 model)

On/OFF switch getting HOT to touch........remove main DC fuse for water pump and pull switch to check connections....loose contacts/bad switch. Shouldn't get that HOT

As for pump not turning off.

    Is water heater FULL?
Did you bleed all of the air out of hot/col sides at each faucet/shower & toilet cold line? (outside shower...washer if you have)

    Leaks........
Any water dripping out of 'city water' connection.internal check valve leaking
Any water dripping from T&P Relief Valve Water heater (Outside compartment)
    Outside shower dripping
Drips/wet spots ....fittings, connections, crimps (can be tough to find....use newspaper/TP around/under suspects to check for wet)'

The 4008 pump uses a internal bypass valve....if discharge pressure is higher then bypass pressure pump will just run

Down/Dirty--Off the Cuff 4008 Model adjustment method
