Replacing 1156 and 2057 bulbs or new replacement light kit

I want more visibility when stopping or signaling of my 5th wheeler. What is best option-changing out the standard 1156 and 2057 bulbs with led bulbs or purchase new led tail light kit. Auto Zone says...

Change the fixture, not the lamps. Most LED lamp replacements do not provide very good illumination in this use. The original tail light fixture is designed to work with an incandescent and the way it gives off light. An LED is more directional.
