My WFCO 55a died so I replaced it with a PD9270. My understanding was that you only needed to change wire gauge if you went with the 9280. My reason in going higher was the charge wizard and the higher amperage would help charging my four GC's a bit. I moved the converter within 2' of the battery bank with 4ga and tied in to the house DC with existing 6ga. Seems to work great. I don't think I would go down.
