BFL, at least you were willing to consider (and test) what the rep had to say.
To be completely honest, I was totally into higher voltage charging when I first started out. But that was until I experienced excessive water loss doing so. So I began to think the idea of higher voltage charging was not the way to go. But once I took personal responsibility for not sufficiently ventilating my batteries , and then took the necessary steps, in order to no longer rely on false readings from charger led displays, I was much more open to considering what you guys were saying. And once I looked into what you and others here were saying, I quickly realized I had been, in many cases, mis-led by those who did not really have my best interests in mind. As well, I soon gained a better understanding of the peukert effect, which in turn put the whole 'slower, longer discharge' issue into much better perspective.
