It looks like my rear air conditioner compressor is going out. Drawing way too much current at startup. My question is whether it is economical to replace the compressor or will I wind up buying a new...

So true! Just matching the "form factor" (Size, Shape, Ports) could be a real challenge. What's more... Most home "Window Shakers" with the BTU's of an RV rooftop, are 220-Volt.
