3 times boost is pretty close.
3 panels in series, 3 times VMP, say, 54V? MPPT conversion 54V/14V, minus conversion losses - total Imp boost 3.5-3.8 times.
Isc (with PWM) is a little higher than Imp, so in the end he'll get charging current 3.0-3.2 times higher than with PWM.
Doesn't mean MPPT is 3 times better, it's just using the right controller with right wiring.
Still remains to be confirmed by the OP that the dealer has indeed wired series with PWM.
