Replacing stolen battery

Run red wire to positive, and white wire to the frame, or ground, when rewiring.

that mom and pop outfit, in Utah IIRC, sells a thick bracket that will lock down your plastic battery box making it very difficult to swipe. or at least a lot harder than the one on the rv next to it.

Battery theft from the tongues of Camper trailers pop up all the time here. It would seem someone would make a heavy, as in 1/4 inch or even 3/8 thick stainless box for batteries with damper proof bolts and some way to conceal the wires to it.They would just take the whole box if not well connected to the RV.
Of course I would still have a vented plastic box inside. At all the RV rallys, I don't think I've seen someone selling one though.

I found my battery picture to be very useful when reconnecting the batteries the following year.

Depending on an area, if batteries are disappearing, one can buy a padlockable bracket for them, but probably the best matter of course is having a local metal shop build a vented aluminum container that locks with hockey puck padlocks. Meth-heads will try to pry open most containers, but if the hockey puck brackets are installed with a proper backing plate, it will be a good while to get into a properly secured one.

We had an old Coachman MH parked at the edge of the property. I kept the local light fingered happy by tossing in a junk battery every once in awhile. They always took them.
