There are certinaly reasons to opt for something other than a real Batwing, and the OP seems to have one. It's the difference between choosing rabbit ears over a rooftop antenna; someone must have had a really good reason..... But when someone comes up and makes the statement that the Jack is a better performing antenna, I gotta call BS... It's funny there are still people on this forum that choose to argue this with no other reason than the Jack works better. Well we know that's NOT the case... gee, maybe they had a broken Batwing?
Those tests I did, especially on VHF were shocking looking at the difference between the two antennas, but what ya gonna do.... Jack simply has no VHF elements, that's why it's small. And that could be a problem as the VHF band is again being populated. That still doesn't explain the lack of UHF performance on UHF with the Jack..
