Poly Isc for 120w panels is approx. 7.6 amps and that is what I got when I had a 120w panel last year for a time.
This has come up several times, especially with those DM mono panels, but not always. There are exceptions where mono = poly for Isc, but seldom seen.
The output of my 220w mono is 25% lower than my 230w poly.
The lower current was one reason I went with mono panels, less wiring losses when paralleled.
However, to take advantage of the lower current, you do need an MPPT controller.
With that said, every design has trade-offs and there are many good compromise designed systems out there using MPPT and PWM technologies.
