Hoo boy.
Can I make a request?
Strictly in my opinion, the three participants in this thread that have done the most research re. trailer tires are (in alphabetical order!) Capriracer, Fasteagle, and Tireman. I'd like to ask each of them to answer a single question. Please bear with me if the answer(s) already exist(s) in this thread and I've just overlooked it/them in the Sea of Posts.
My question is:
What brand/model/size/weight is/are the trailer(s) you own, and what tires EXACTLY do you have in service on it/them?
Note to addressees:
I'm not looking for explanations as to how the choice was arrived at...I can slog through here looking for that info. All I really want are the plainly stated facts re. what rubber you're actually using Where The Rubber Meets The Road.
Thanks, I hope!
My RV trailer is a 37'1" fifth wheel, manufactured by Keystone. It's certification label lists the GVWR as 14,100# and the two axles with a GAWR of 6,000# ea. Since early to mid 2006 the trailer has been fitted with Power King TowMax STR tires rated at 3520# @ 80 psi. I'm currently on the second complete set and they are always aired to 80 psi before going down the road on them.
