I should buy a cheap IR gun, good for checking bearings and lake water temperature etc. I have a tpm system and am trying to remember the hottest temp I saw last summer on a tire; believe is was about 110f but can't trust my memory.
Is your TPM measuring internal tire air temperature as mine do or is it on the end of the metal valve stem which is cooling the air between the tire air chamber and the sensor at the end of the stem?
Have you calibrated your TPM?
Mine read +/- 2 to 4 psi from digital gage.
I haven't calibrated the temps other than checking ambient when it appears they are +/- 3°F of the temperature reading from a non-calibrated thermometer.
