I think you will find that even with all those issues mentioned, ST tires will still pass the standard. Perhaps the following will help explain.

BTW, tire manufacturers are required to report their warranty returns to NHTSA. That's why it is important for folks to file a report with NHTSA when these things happen. That is a way for NHTSA to determine if what data they are recieving matches what is going on in the real world.
Most people I talk to here in the park do not report trailer tire failures to the manufacturer. The two on my street this year had their trailer insurance cover the damage.

Chris, I wonder if those in your park who had failures and didn't bother to report to NHTSA realize they aren't being responsible citizens for the rest of the users of the same tires. If in fact the tires were defective but no one reports the failure then there will probably not be a recall. So in reality they might be contributing to the loss others might experience.
