May I suggest one addition to your (above highlighted) list?
Seems like the speed at which folks habitually tow is important, especially as regards heat buildup.
Might that info be important to include in your assessment?
I believe the reality is that most drive 55 - 70. I have ScangageII which gives me instant and avg mpg along with engine load and other readings. My sweet spot is 57 mph. I'm retires and trying to enjoy life.
I am willing to accept that many trailers actually exceed 60 most of the time (based on how many pass me vs how many I pass) so believe that the speed limits have changed from 55 to 60/65/70 over the past few years many are doing the limit so it means that ST tires with their 65 mph limit and some of the other trailer tires with their 62 mph limit must change to LTR or continue to accept tire failures as normal.
