Everyone towing an RV trailer over 10,000# should read this reference. It’s not all inclusive because other mandatory rules and regulations are tied to it but their references are given in this one. There are other safety standards found elsewhere not referenced here that are also binding to the vehicle user.
It’s interesting to note that the two primary trailer weights mentioned are propane and water. Lot’s of dry campers will forget just how much water they actually have onboard when they start moving again. Remember, if you add more water to your fresh water tank while you’re parked and have not dumped anything, the water you have replaced must be in the gray or black tanks and added to your estimated weight as you leave the dry camp.
