You may want to do a little research on that! LT tires rarely have 3 steel belts - and that would also be true for ST tires.
I do a lot of research. But just for you I went and downloaded the newest information for belts on popular tires. Michelin has the newest data book - May 2011 - and they still have the third belt on their commercial grade 16” truck tires. Look on page 19 of the reference below.

Maxxis has changed their data book to include a nylon cap vice a third steel belt. (I wonder if they had problems)?

p.s. My research has included your question and answer section of another web site. I’ve read all of your RV trailer tire inputs since 2007. I just haven’t seen the need to bring them up for comparison in this thread. Comments may be found in one of my postings in this blog.
