With regard to the portion of this thread that deals with derating tires and the meaning of dual and tandem, I requested clarification from both Goodyear and MOR/RYDE....the following reply is from MOR/RYDE...my tandem axle manufacturer....
My partial e-mail..."I have two (tandem) 7000 lb axles with leaf springs on a Carriage Cameo that is rated at 14999 GVW (2600 lb is on pin when empty) ...two tires per axle and 4 tires in total. The trailer came with E rated tires and I have upgraded to G rated, but I am just trying to verify the load rating per tire. "
Their reply...
"If you do not have dual tires then you don’t have to de-rate the tires. That is only when you have dual tires. Let me know if you need anything else."
SO...there may be some confusion on this issue....awaiting reply from Goodyear.
