This is an interesting one. In PA, if you replace the ST235/80R16 LRE tires that came with your trailer with XPS Ribs, it won't pass inspection. But if you replace them with G614s or 17.5 inch rims and H rated tires or better it will.
BTW: That auxiliary tire placard was nothing more than a piece of clear paper to be taped to the side with clear tape. Like that will hold up for more than 6 months. At least the original placard will hold up for 5 or 6 years in the sun. I like the idea of it being in the door frame like a truck. Then you could easily make a tire placard on paper and tape it in there. It would last at least 4 or 5 years that way.
