Any one ever go back to bias belted tires? how do they hold up?
Yes.
Bias-belted tires are well known to be superior to radials for trailers.
At least, among those that understand that there's a difference between the way trailers and pickup trucks respond to the road.
The first thing a hauler learns is the short term bias ply tire simply doesn't last as long as the radial. Thank goodness the industry dumped the bias ply tire and gave us the radial.
The ancient tech bias ply tire works great on light weight lawnservice trailers and a utility trailer that makes a trip to Lowes or the local feed store on occassion. Both see very litle if any all day highway trips at intersate speeds as most RV/haulers trailers.
I sure wouldn't recommend a bias ply ST or LT tire on a heavy trailer that operates at interstate speeds for anyone.
