Since Maxxis is not currently making the size/load range tires I want to put on my new trailer, I decided to put the larger Goodyear Marathons on. I got the last five that Eastern Marine had in stock (we actually drove up there this morning). Here is something interesting. Three different plant codes. The oldest tire is from the original Chinese plant, owned by Triangle, that Goodyear had quality problems with. Another tire is from the Goodyear plant in Alabama. The other three are newer than the U.S. Made one, and are made in a different plant owned by Triangle.
It will be interesting to see when I go pick up the trailer in a week and a day what plants the smaller Goodyear Marathons on it were made in.
The Hi-Lo I just bought still has the factory supplied tires on it. The trailer was built in 2009. The two tires on the curbside and the spare were built in China in weeks 0808, 0908, and 1008.
The tires on the roadside were built in the USA, one during the week 4408 and don't remember the date for the other one.
