What standards do the manufacturer actually use? GVWR minus 25% pin weight divided by number of tires? I saw a placard like that once but can't seem to find the thread in question. Do they/are they required to weigh side to side? It seems unlikely that it would be the same, especially with so many different floor plans available.
A couple questions, hopefully related to this thread. I saw on most manufacturers websites that a tire once repaired becomes a non-speed rated tire. No description of what that means - how fast can I go on a non-speed rated tire?
Keep up with the failure analysis descriptions. If there is a document describing what to look for in a failure, that would be educational as well. Tread wear ones are commonly available.
