A couple questions, hopefully related to this thread. I saw on most manufacturers websites that a tire once repaired becomes a non-speed rated tire. No description of what that means - how fast can I go on a non-speed rated tire?
Keep up with the failure analysis descriptions. If there is a document describing what to look for in a failure, that would be educational as well. Tread wear ones are commonly available.
I for one am getting a lot out of this and other technical debates on this forum and hope they continue.
RE tire failure analysis. If you go to my blog and work your way through from the first posting you will build what I think will be a better than average understanding of what a tire is and why they fail. I have a number of close-up pictures of actual failures and their cause.
