BTDT.. I also had a TV tire blow due to age.. was trying to get one more summer out of my winter tires (wearing them down before replacement) and did $1500.00 damage to the RF fender when it blew..
How did the new LTs do getting you down to the Keys?

So far seems to tow better.Have about four hundred miles on them and all seems to be working out fine.As for the TV tire no damage but was fun changing on the rear with the trailer hooked up.I was lucky that there was a turn around in the medium a hundred yards down the road so was on pavement.There would have been no way slanted as it was on the shoulder.Did not hurt the rim getting there as it is a steel wheel.
